| Personal History | Jorra Benn was born April 6, 2366 in Rekantha Province on Bajor. His parents are Jorra Ennas and Pearl Sanderson. Benn’s father died when he was three years old, just as the Cardassians were beginning to withdraw from Bajor. It was at this time when he and his mother, Sanderson, relocated to her childhood home of San Francisco, on Earth. To honor his Bajoran heritage, and his father, Benn has continued to maintain the traditional custom of keeping his family name (Jorra) first and first name (Benn) second. He should be addressed as Mr. Jorra or Benn, to his family and friends. His childhood was happy and rich, and Benn excelled at school. After high school, he decided to return to Bajor to study engineering at the University of Ashalla. Upon graduation from University, Benn was hired as full time faculty in the Engineering department. He taught in the areas of mechanical and chemical engineering for six years. In 2394, Benn applied to SF Academy and completed an accelerated program in Engineering and Command. He graduated with high honors in 2398. Benn’s first posting was as an Ensign in Engineering on Starbase 12. Two years later, he was promoted to Lieutenant and was assigned to USS Bradbury. |
