Mission: What was Lost is Found
Location: Near the Romulan Neutral Zone
Timeline: SD 7396.5 (2271)

Jennings had been blown from his station from the last pass and crawled over the captain's body to the helm. The main view screen was full of static and he could barely make out anything out but what he could see was bad.

A huge section of the saucer was gone.

The Ulysses still had impulse and he through the ship into a series of evasive maneuvers...they needed time.

As the unknown Romulan ship closed on them they crisscrossed over their path over and over again. The sharper and sharper maneuvers ripped more and more from the ship. But that had part of the plan. As more material was lost another torpedo was deployed, they needed to hit them hard and they couldn't fire enough at once to do the damage that needed to be done so they laid the trap and the Ulysses was the bait.

The erratic even violent maneuvers was taking it's toll and they swung wide. The Romulans mirrored their maneuver and soon they were head to head.

The call to the weapons station went out over the sounds of fire and the electrical popping of blown consoles. "STEADDYY...Steadyyy...."

As another of the Romulan plasma weapons was fired the order was given. "NOW!! EVASIVE!"

Two torpedoes and their last phaser opened up as their minefield was detonated. Jennings dove and rolled the ship to port as the space around them erupted in a combination of plasma and antimatter explosions. There was a blinding flash and more systems blew as the ship was slammed by multiple shockwaves.

Once again the surviving crew dragged themselves to their feet. Everything was eerily quiet. The ship had lost impulse, but Jennings managed to stabilize the ships position with thrusters. Looking around he found the XO and weapons officer dead and he was was wheezing, his side on fire from the pain.

Hearing other painful moans he gingerly made his way as the science office pushed her way from under some debris, her station probably having saved her from being crushed. A large cut on her head had matted her blonde hair from the blood.

"Ma'am, you alright?"

Her hand went to her head as she tried to focus. "No..." her reply stopped as she locked on the screen. Below them was a planet. Systems of clouds moved over land and greenish ocean. But there had been no planets near them during the fight... The serenity of the view was shattered as a Romulan D-7 few over them as it fell into a semi-controlled descent into the atmosphere.

Behind them the lift doors where being forced and as she looked back the screen her knees buckled.

Jenning had to move quickly as he tried catch her but the effort and extra weight on his broken ribs too much and they both went down as he yelled in pain.

As they laid there the person from the lift joined them and the familiar face of the chief engineer hovered over him as another began scanning them with a med scanner. "She's got a serious concussion and laceration, he's got several broken ribs and a punctured lung.

Like the others a few moments earlier the engineer was staring at the viewscreen..."Where the hell are we?"
