In Earth's Norse mythology a Valkyrie was a symbol of fairness and honor; a bright shining example in the cold and dark of the north. She was a supernatural being that flew over land and sea searching and protecting those she cared for. A Valkyrie was charged with finding those warriors worthy to enter the halls of Valhalla.

The year is 2400 and a new century has dawned. So much has happened in the last 25 years. The Dominion War ended, The USS Voyager returned from the Delta Quadrant, and the Romulan Empire opened up to the Federation. With the rebuilding of the fleet, the new technology brought back by Voyager, and the stabilization of the region a new age has dawned for the Federation.
The Borg are a fading consideration, Romulan relations are still improving, the Cardassians are still causing trouble and full of bluster, and the Klingons are, well..., still Klingons. With Federation's return to its core mission of exploration, they are once again answering the call of the unknown. As Picard once said, “...the unknown is what brings us out here”.
One of the newest ships brought into service is the USS Valkyrie, a Vesta class starship equipped with state of the art technologies, including a Quantum Slipstream Drive (QSD). With a QSD at their disposal the unknown has opened up like never before.
About the Valkyrie...
- We operate in a Nemesis timeline. Meaning we do not follow the events set in motion by the Abrams Star Trek. In other words - Romulus is still intact. This means we operate with most of the technology from Picard but get to write our own path, unbound by the limits set forth in the Abrams movies (Kelvin timeline), DSC, PIC, PRO, LD, or SNW.

They still had just under 24 hours before they arrived at Aseek's home world. Things were running much smoother than the ships rough start but wrinkles always pop up from time to time. Last night he and Hunt had discussed the request the had come in from Ops and a rumor that had reach even their ears. Daegan sent a message to Jules for a relaxing evening in the holodeck. With everything that had happened lately he needed to just get away and relax. Calling up a old camping program he altered it so that it was still in the mountains but was now creek side. Sending Jules a message to meet him in the holodeck he set a camp fire and adjusted the time to just before sunset. With everything set he relaxed in his camp chair listening to the gentle popping of the fire.

Jerome made his way to the observation lounge. The Captain had called him down stating that there were various moves that needed to be discussed. The Valkyrie had quite a bit happening lately and he honestly had no idea that a First Officer did so much running around. Pressing the chime, he waited to be called in.

It was near sunrise,hints of pink touched the clouds above the ocean. A lone seagull drifted above, its wings having a golden tint provided by the rising sun. A light breeze danced through the tops of the palm trees, causing them to sway gently side to side. A woman, with raven tresses, not too far from the trees, walked along the beach, her bare toes being kissed by the waves which washed upon the shore.
