[Ready Room]

Now that things had calmed down and they could once again focus on their primary mission and own issues Bass was catching up on several reports and didn't like what he was had read. He had had his own experiences to address and this only added to it.

Letting out a breath he tapping his commbadge. "Baas to Bridge. Jerome could you join me in the Ready room."

"On my way." Leaving the next ranking officer in charge, he stood from the center seat. With everything that had taken place, it was recommended that he take a few days. But after a day, Jerome found himself right back at it. Two minutes after the call, Hunt entered the ready room. Behind the desk, he found his commanding officer. The look on the man's face, said that there was something that needed to be addressed.

Baas took a breath as he leaned back gesturing to the seat. "About our discussion we had about Rogers before everything went to hell with the folks on the surface."

Jerome sighed as he took a seat. The issues with Rogers had taken a place in the preverbal backburner due to recent events. Now things were returning back to normal. "Yes, the issue with his special operations team."

Pointing to Jerome with a gesture. "Well to add a few logs to the fire. While you were spending your time on the surface he first tried to... instruct me how I would be conducting myself. Then, after replying to his 'question' he... Let me make sure I get this right. He muttered, 'Chariots, carriages, dog sled teams...quarterbacks in Terran rules football". With the Administrator there no less. Maybe he thought I wouldn't hear him, but in a crowded turbolift it's hard to miss."

Raising an eyebrow, the first officer was clearly upset from what he was hearing. "I believe it's time do bring him back to reality."

Baas nodded even though what had been discusses thus far wasn't all of the issues. The incident on the surface on the surface, while it could have made matter much worse, could at least be chalked up to a split second reaction. Regardless it was time to get things set straight.

"Well if things go sideways I have made some arrangements." Tapping his commbadge. "Lieutenant Rogers, Report to the Ready Room."

Rogers hadn't acknowledge the hail but a few moments later was shown to the Ready Room, by Sizia, still in his gear after he had returned to the surface. Looking to Jerome Baas shaking his head as he took a breath, thinking to himself... ~Strike Three.~

"Well Lieutenant I see the attitude remains..."

Baas looked to Rogers who was about to issue a retort to Baas' comment, but Baas went to his feet and cut him off. "DON'T...don't dig your hole any deeper! Front And Center Lieutenant!"

Rogers jaw clintched and stepped smarlty to the front of the Captain's desk postion himself six inch and center, staring at the wall behind Baas.

Baas gestured to Jerome, "We had planned this to be a minor dressing down to make sure you bring things to the XO but since you cannot even maintain basic courtesies, you're done here.

Baas began listing his infractions. "You create a fast reaction team without geting permission to or even informing the XO of the existence of this team. The XO is responsible for the management of ship's personnel and resources. This is the same here as is is on EVERY Starfleet vessel. How is he supposed to make proper use of personnel or resources if he doesn't know they even exist?"

Stepping off to the side, "Then you order the creation of specialized weapons; AGAIN actions without authorization.

"You seem to forget that this is MY ship...Not yours. There are rules and procedures for a reason, and I know for a fact that this type of thing would have been squashed even quicker on a Marine installation. But I gave you some slack to allow you to adjust but all you did with that slack was hang yourself.

"In addition, you seem to think you can tell me how things are going to be run here. Not only that but what I am going to do when on away team that I am commanding. Then when I set you straight you popped off under your breath in the turbo lift and you continued when you blatantly showed your attitude in the pilot's briefing room.

"Then to top it off you undermined by directive to try and deescalate the situation by snatching that Romulan from the doorway after I instructed Kurul to try and talk them down. You could have gotten someone killed with your over zealous trigger happy reckless stupidity!

"You disagree with a plan....Fine, offer an alternative. You disagree with an order...Fine. But you bring those disagreements up properly Not by popping off in front of others! If the decision has been made or the situation doesn't allow for the proper voicing of an objection...You Bite Your Fucking Tongue!"

Rogers was dark red, his jaw still clenched, but he remained silent. A bead of sweat trickling down his temple.

Baas had return to his place behind his desk and picked up a padd, dropping it in front of of Rogers. "Fortunately for you a situation has arisen that just so happens to need you and your teams particular talents. You and your team are relieved of duty aboard this ship. You all will pack your gear, beam to the Harper, and wait for the USS Puller to arrive and pick you up.

"Your team members that had been taken hostage will be receiving commendations. As for you...The Marine Colonel you are being assigned to has been made aware of the situation and a reprimand will appear on your record. DISMISSED."

Rogers picked up the padd with a glare. He was obviously furious but a bit of a smirk formed at the corner of his mouth before marched from the ready room.

Once the door closed Baas took his seat once again. "If that Colonel hadn't wanted him I should have hit him flat out with insubordination."

Sitting back in silence, Jerome turned his attention. In all honesty, it hadn't been his place to step in an interrupt the Captain while discipling a member of his crew. "In all honesty, I believe you should have charged him with insubordination. Rogers will go onto the next posting, pulling the same nonsense."

Daegan nodded. "True, but his actions are on the record, plus an insubordination case would only drag things out, and kept him around longer. Let him pull his crap under Colonel Means. Now that his...tendencies...are out in the open, Means will not only watch him like a hawk, but ship him off to pull guard duty on Star Base 80 if he pulls anything."

"Any idea on who want to consider for his replacement?" Hunt inquired. "Or do you want to bring in someone from outside the Valkyrie?"

Daegan thought but only for a moment. "Well we are only going to be getting further and further away from any Federation starbase... We're sharing orbit with the Harper, let's see what Captain Zumara can do for us."
