In Earth's Norse mythology a Valkyrie was a symbol of fairness and honor; a bright shining example in the cold and dark of the north. She was a supernatural being that flew over land and sea searching and protecting those she cared for. A Valkyrie was charged with finding those warriors worthy to enter the halls of Valhalla.
Are you worthy?
Come, test your metal aboard the USS Valkyrie.
The year is 2400 and a new century has dawned. So much has happened in the last 25 years. The Dominion War ended, The USS Voyager returned from the Delta Quadrant, and the Romulan Empire opened up to the Federation. With the rebuilding of the fleet, the new technology brought back by Voyager, and the stabilization of the region a new age has dawned for the Federation.
The Borg are a fading threat, Romulan relations are still improving, the Cardassians are still causing trouble and full of bluster, and the Klingons are, well..., still Klingons. With Federation's return to its core mission of exploration, they are once again answering the call of the unknown. As Picard once said, “...the unknown is what brings us out here”.
One of the newest ships brought into service is the USS Valkyrie, a Vesta class starship equipped with state of the art technologies, including a Quantum Slipstream Drive (QSD). With a QSD at their disposal the unknown has opened up like never before.

About the Valkyrie...
- We operate in a Nemesis timeline. Meaning we do not follow the events set in motion by the Abrams Star Trek. In other words - Romulus is still intact. This means we operate with most of the technology from Picard but get to write our own path, unbound by the limits set forth in the Abrams movies (Kelvin timeline), DSC, PIC, PRO, LD, or SNW.
- We are an 18+, Nova platform simulation with a RPG rating of:

[Inside the Council Chamber]
Addressing the Captain once again, "When your ship arrived," Dareem said, "you believed you had discovered something unfinished--perhaps a lost colony just waiting to become the next Federation outpost."
Dareem turned and scanned the hostages, taking note of each one's expression. Some were steely-faced, some were angry, and some were exceptionally frightened.
"That assumption was understandable," he continued. "But mistaken. We are not a lost people, Captain Baas. We are a patient one. And patience has allowed us to consider the opportunity your arrival represents."
He paused again, signaling for Sokah to approach.
"Our intentions are…

Urushi froze at the science console, her hands still on its smooth surface. She kept her eyes forward as she listened. She knew that with only a few light taps of her fingers, she could make things very difficult for Kurul. After all, the Valkyrie was a science cruiser, and Urushi had a lot of what she called 'Science Power' at her fingertips. Plus, her symbiont Leon was telling her that if she needed to act, Captain Bass would give her some sort of sign, and she would have to be quick and discreet. 'Just keep your hands at the…

...In the Council Chamber...
"What are you actually hoping to achieve here?" Hunt questioned.
The Council Chamber has long been the colony's first storehouse for grain. It could still be glimpsed if one looked closely--thick beams high above and a broad floor meant to maximize volume. Now it was ground zero for a betrayal.
The Starfleet officers sat against the far wall, their hands bound with cord and insulated wiring. It was an arrangement that bordered on cruel, but entirely necessary in the eyes of Dareem.
Several Romulans stood along the walls at even intervals, and there was an uneasiness…

[Surface of Kril'Es]
Kurul and Akir strode through the settlement to where the transport enhancers were in place. There were Starfleet personnel already moving about, helping to upgrade their facilities. Stopping to watch the work, Kurul had a pang of doubt as he watched the uniformed men and women worked side by side this time. ~This is a poor way to repay them for everything these people have given freely...~
His thoughts were interrupted by a hand on his shoulder as Akir spoke. "Come, our people will understand."
Kurul looked to his former shipmate, nodding. They continued on and approached…

[Kurul's Home]
Dareem arrived outside of his old friend's home. The lights inside were low, the hour deep enough that even the local insects has become selective about when they sang.
He paused at the threshold, listening. He could not tell if Kurul or his family were sleeping.
Dareem knocked anyway.
It was late but Kurul had always been a night owl and with all the evens of the recent days he had much to think about. Sipping from his tea, he surprised at the knock at such a late hour. Setting his up a side he moved to and…
