Mission:
Sole Survivor
Location: Planet's Surface
Timeline: MD 18 - 1530
[Away team]
"Captain, Lieutenant Thomas" she stated while literally running for her life "Wallace was killed by one of those defiled creatures. Lieutenant Yaotome is badly injured but she' s with O'Riley and the Doctor but their path to the surface is blocked by a cave in. Aseek and Sizia are with me heading for the surface; we need to get the hell out of here like yesterday" trying to keep it together despite being scared to death.
Aseek and Stevie were the first to get outside and Sizia and close behind.
[USS Valkyrie]
Baas was already on his feet. "We still can't get a lock on the rest of the team but Hobbes is en route via shuttle to act a a relay. Transmit any data you have we are going pull purge your EV suits and equipment as you materialize."
Aziz's hands danced over his console to interrupt the transporter in order to pull off the process the Captain had laid out, looking up as his hands froze. "Ready".
Baas called out over the channel. "On your order Lieutenant!"
The turbo lift opened as Commander Hunt entered the bridge. Upon arriving back on board, his EV suit had been stripped from him and when given the clear had rushed off to the bridge. "What's happening with the away team?"
Nodding to the view screen. "That."
[On the Surface]
Sizia was uploading her scans when the ground itself shook and she looked past the cliffs edge, towards the sun setting over the remains of their launch pads when a huge mass* rose up and massive appendages crashed around them.
Thomas about turned three shades of white seeing what was coming around them "Now.....Captain....NOW!!"
[Shuttle Hrist]
Hobbes had been monitoring and flying considerably lower that he had originally suggested, and all his sensors were tied the the Valkyrie so they could do what they needed to do. When the creature came into view, "Goddess..." He swung around and fired on the...the, whatever that thing was, as he tried to lure it away from the complex.
[Transporter Room 2]
Aseek looked around him all three of them had been stripped of their protective suits and equipment by the ships technology. If he hadn't been in shock from what he had seen he would have once again marveled at how advanced these people were. He moved to step down but his legs failed him. Raising his hands they began to shake and his vision narrowed.
The transporter operator saw the guy going into shock and dash over to the platform, taking him by the arm. "Easy there I got ya." Slowly sitting him down and leaning him against the wall, "Medical team to Transporter Room 2."
Even though she was still in her shorts and tank top, Sizia rushed to he console. "Sh'velihr to Bridge."
Stevie looked down seeing she was no longer in the EV suit. For several moments she just stood looking off into nothingness as the images played through her head of the hell she'd just been through. Hearing the call for a Medical team being summoned snapped her mind back to reality. Her next thoughts were of Liam hoping he was all right; in her mind that was a priority.
[Bridge]
Even as the three members of the away team were being beamed up the images from the shuttles sensors filled the view screen. "Captain I only have life signs on O'Riley, Lambert, Yaotome, and Tanaka!"
"GET THEM OUT OF THERE. DIRECTLY TO SICKBAY...same procedure!"
Aziz looked up to the captain with a satisfied grin. "Got'em sir."
Baas looked down and slapped the kids shoulder. "Well done. Let Hobbes know to come on home."
"Aye sir."
Sizia's hail came out over the comm and Daegan replied, "Glad your Sizia how is everyone"
ignoring his question she asked, == Sir, are you still reading Lt. Wallace's communicator? ==
Looking back down to Ops who nodded. "We are but wasn't he taken by these Defiled?"
== He was, but if we can beam... ==
Baas cut her off, "I'm not risking the contamination of the ship."
== Yes sir, but is that shuttle still out there? ==
From the Science station V'Laros stood, seeing where his pupil was going. "Captain, if I may I suggest we stop Lt. M'Tala's return immediately."
Baas nodded the Aziz to do it as he replied to them both. "Ok, explain."
With the channel still open Sizia spoke. == Captain we can bean what's left of Wallace to the shuttle. ==
With the Captain still looking over to him; "Captain, the Petty Officer's logic is surprisingly sound. After extracting Lt. M'Tala we can transport the now mutated Lt. Wallace to the shuttle and run any scans needed through it's internal sensors."
They would most likely loose a shuttle but the data gained could be invaluable. Looking over to his XO, "Jerome?"
"I can concur with that plan," Jerome replied nodding his approval to his Captain. "Might I also suggest destroying the shuttle as well, after we get all the information needed."
In the moments that followed the shuttle Hrist was set into an orbit off the Valkyrie's ports bow. The bridge viewer showed the inside of the shuttle and as Hobbes returned to his station the transport began and what had been their security chief materialized*.
As the reanimated remains materialized the violent thrashing about began. V'Laros look unmoved, "Fasinating. I will attempt to restrain it with force fields." Fields were activated, mor to protect the shuttles systems and the scans began.
His helmet was still in place, but the face plate was shattered and the jaw bones split and thrust forward like fanged mandibles. His suit in taters and the exposed back and arm had multiple boney protrusions and the legs had been replaced by a single tapering snake-like tail with a bone spike or stinger-like structure at the end.
